The Tri-City Chili Peppers approached Sonaray with a unique challenge: develop a specialised black light lighting system capable of bringing their innovative Cosmic Baseball concept to life. Unlike traditional sports lighting, the project required proprietary UV lighting that could illuminate fluorescent uniforms, baseballs, bats and field markings while maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for players and spectators.

As the popularity of Cosmic Baseball grew rapidly, the solution also needed to be portable, scalable and suitable for deployment at multiple venues across the United States. Working alongside the Tri-City Chili Peppers and Federated Lighting of Virginia (FLVA), Sonaray engineered a custom lighting solution that transformed a standard baseball field into a unique entertainment venue. The project showcases how innovative lighting technology can create immersive sporting experiences while maintaining the performance and safety standards expected across professional sporting venues.
