The Altona council were looking for an effective pathway lighting solution for the area around the boat ramp because corrosion from the salt air had negatively affected most of the existing power cables and light units. The council wanted to avoid the need for extensive civil works to dig new trenches, replace the cables and then reconcrete the entire area.

Solution

Our solution was to install solar lighting, using our impressive and energy-efficient solar blade lights. This negates any need to connect the lights to mains power, as the solar blade units we used are standalone and are effectively powered by the sun. These lights are programmable remotely, have a massive 72Ah battery and come with a 5-year warranty.

Technical Highlights

Each 30-watt light has its own solar panel with an onboard battery and can run for 25 hours when the battery is fully charged, which only takes around 8 hours.
The lights offer fully directional illumination with a 120-degree beam angle.
Each light unit is corrosion-resistant and waterproof for longevity and sustainability.
Lights are mounted on a 6 metre galavanised pole with 2 metres outreach, providing better lighting coverage.
As an alternative, a telescopic pole connects to a concrete base, making the lights highly portable if they need to be relocated for major events.
